Even if the manufacturers perfect self driving cars, have technology on the roads to make sure everything works perfectly, so traffic jams dont exist anymore or accidents are a rarity, it will never happen, because enthusiasts like to drive and if this is to work perfectly every car on the road will have to be self driven. People dont change habits quickly (electric cars). Why would you buy a $50000 self driving car when you can pay 2 bucks for a “self driving” bus?

It’s not really about who develops such systems (because a lot of car brands do, such as merc, bmw, audi, toyota…) but how good they actually are…so it’s not surprising that Cadillac does that, too…if those controlling systems prevent crashes, they could be comparable with the airbag which nearly every new car has got as standard…
